I have more stories…

Obviously I’ve been writing more than blogging. But, instead of posting those stories here, I’ve been finding homes for them in anthos. Now, that’s a good thing, but it leaves the site a bit short, so I’m working on a few selection specifically written for the site. I’ll talk more about these stories, as each will serve as compliments to the novel that is the sequel to Black Horse.

More to come.

I hate blogging

I hate blogging. I’m embarrassed to blog. There’s really nothing that I’m sitting here thinking about that I can imagine anyone else wants to read. I abhor the mindless posts that are endlessly offered up to entrigue and delight – seriously – they do not intrigue and they come something far short of delightful. So I figured it was best if I just wrote stories and posted them here now and again.

But my webmaster says I have to blog. Daily content drives a subscriber list. Did you know that?

And I’m all wrapped up in the argument of whether to post stories here or not…yeah…that old chestnutt.

So, blogging…let’s see…I went grocery shopping today. Not really, but just go with me here…

I went grocery shopping and I had a meaningful and metaphorical experience among the vegetables. Mostly because meat is so out of fashion, and one does want to be fashionable, no? It was so nice, my experience, where I realized everything I had ever done wrong in my life, and all of the right things I could do to turn it around. And all in the supermarket – how awesome is that?

I’m lying.

I know. You were kind of getting into my revelation, because deep down inside, you wish that insight into life was as easy as taking a stroll amongst the vegetables in your local whatever mart…

But the truth is, you’ll never find it there.

Because revelation only truly comes from the liquor store. And that’s the place i visted before I attempted this dreadful attempt at blogging.

I think I’ll have a few more, and then write about something that will drink your blood and suck out your soul. Then I’ll feel better.

You’ll still shop in the vegtable isle, decked out in your obnoxious outfit, screaming at your kids while you are on your cell phone, but I’ll feel better.

So maybe blogging will work after all. We’ll see.

And then it was gone…

Yeah, it’s gone.

Fatima Barcelos obituary…

The news posted at Innsmouth Free Press was shocking, and yet anyone that knew her would have a hard time saying that they were surprised. The story of Fatima’s demise is told in full in Rio Tiburon. Click on Library & Podcasts, then on Miles Boothe Theatre. You’ll find the horrifying truth there…

This one will be dark…

Should the Sky Go Black, and the Ground Begin to Burn

If you’re looking for inspiration, you need to backtrack to the happy site you were on before you forwarded to this one. Here the light is lost, hope is sintered into black gravel and illumination purged into some dark maw who will wring fevered pleasure from your soul before swallowing. Anyway, the next story will be posted on the 13th…

*Update, 11/14 – It’s coming! It needs a bit more work but will be posted soon.

Happy Halloween!

This year, I’m posting three scary treats for your reading pleasure: Just go to the “Library & Podcasts” link above. Scroll down and click on Miles Boothe Theatre, and you’ll see them listed there.

The first is Blanket of Darkness. This is a story that might have been titled What If the Good Guys Suddenly Lost?, but that seemed a bit long for a flash story. It’s a little glimpse of the end through the eyes of the loser of the ulimate battle, and those of a small town.

Vicious Circle takes a different turn. Written in a fit of frustration, this one is about embracing the freedom to go after exactly what you want, when you want it. Just be careful of who you bump into along the way, and look out for what’s waiting in the deep end. heh

Rio Tiburon is a monster story, plain and simple. Set in the Amazon jungle, this story brings ocean cryptids to life and turns a bloodthirsty horde loose on your imagination. You may want to take your bath before you read this one…

Enjoy the stories and the evening!

The Fallow Soul

The Fallow Soul, posted on the Miles Boothe Theatre page, is one story in a series named “Borderlanders”.

The Borderlander stories are tied to Black Horse and The Searcy Incident, and each reveal a facet of our connection to the other side – a side where our nightmares come from. Each character caught up in this world sees a tiny piece of the place where our fear were born, and why they are such an intrinsic part of our instinctual reaction to unexplained events in our lives.

More Borderlander tales will follow.

Do you like a good ghost story?

I do. I love them, and always have. You can go ahead and add monster stories to the list as well, and anything horror related in general.

This is my site, and it features my stories. Everything is available for your reading or listening pleasure and the stories range from short tales to novel length, and then some.

You can leave comments here and there if you like. You can contact me if you have anything more important to share. Or, you can just read and have fun. Enjoy.
